Hurley
The love for the ocean and its constant change is the essence of Hurley. Deeply rooted in the surf culture, Hulrey Surfboards was established in 1979 in California, Costa Mesa. Bob was 23 when he shaped the boards of the world´s best surfer and become famous for his good work. Together with his team he founded Billabong USA in 1983, becaus Bob was a big fan of the Billabong Boardershorts. Business was good but the advent of the Internet and digital technology in the 90´s led the US-Team rethink its approach.
<h2>From Billabong to Hurley</h2>
The demands on a surf brand had changed and surfers were not only only into their sports but also in music, lifestyle and art. The team handed over the license for Billabong USA and founded in 1998 Hurley International. Since Hurley is a label that emphazizes its commitment to the surf, skate and music culture. The idea behind the California brand is to live the dreams of youth and to combine different lifestyles. The accessories, hoodies, shirts and shorts are a statement to this vision and are going well for surfers, skaters and musicians. Hurley does not only promotes bands but also supports emerging and talented athlets. The label has sponsored the punk band Blink 182, the surfer Timmy Curran and skateboarder Bob Burnquist.
